Regina Hill
Lead Project Designer
Regina was the second child born to Reginald and Donnie Hill. Growing up, Regina did not always value the wisdom of her parents' decision to insist their children spend their after school time, weekends and summers working in the family business. Regina states "Hill's was always an equal opportunity employer. My parents always believed girls could do anything boys could - and we did!" from assisting customers in the showroom to working in the field installing flooring and window treatments to constructing cabinets in the shop. What remains today is a new found appreciation for the legacy bestowed upon her during childhood. That invaluable experience has served her well for many years making her not only talented, but successful in a male dominated industry. Additionally, Regina brings with her another distinct advantage in her ability to relate to the female consumer, also contributing to her success.
Moving to Dallas after high school graduation, Regina pursued higher education with an Associates Degree in Applied Arts and Sciences and completed her education with a Degree in Interior Design. With a wealth of practical knowledge and experience already, she continued broadening and expanding her knowledge base by seeking challenging positions providing exposure to residential, office, commercial, hospitality and healthcare design. Additionally, Regina remained working in the family business on a part time basis until the unexpected death of her father and illness of her mother ultimately forced the business' closure.
Continuing her design pursuits, Regina flourished while working as a Design Project Manager in architectural and design firms. Among her notable projects are Yahoo! Dallas, IBM and Grainger's Regional Distribution Center. Additionally, she worked on laboratory and medical projects for institutions such as Baylor University Medical Center, Corning Clinical Laboratories, Harris Methodist Hospital, Presbyterian Healthcare Systems, Abbott Laboratories, Alcon Laboratories, Children's Medical Center and Southwestern Medical Center, to name a few.
But inevitably, as her mother's illness progressed, Regina soon came to realize she could no longer continue to meet the expectations of her demanding design position while serving as a caretaker for her Mother. Ultimately, she resolved to alter her career path pursuing a new direction as a cabinetry design and sales specialist.
Over the next years, Regina refined her cabinetry expertise, holding positions with prominent, nationally known manufacturers, as well as smaller, locally owned cabinet shops. As the only female sales representative, she attained a position at Texas' largest independently and locally owned cabinetry manufacturer, where she remained for the following nine years. During this time, Regina's clientele ranged from small to large scale tract and custom homebuilders, individual homeowners, architects, designers and renovation specialists. Her expertise enabled her to successfully complete many large scale and complex projects including a private suite at Lone Star Park for a popular radio and TV personality, as well as the design and installation of custom cabinetry for a new 17,000 sq ft residence in Turtle Creek, one of Dallas' oldest and most prestigious neighborhoods.
A chance meeting with an old family acquaintance, Scott Comstock, and hearing of his new endeavor soon sparked conversation of again joining forces. It was a natural evolution that the opportunity to partner with Scott and Woodperfect Custom Cabinetry would not only provide a unique and familiar fit, but offer Regina the ability to better utilize her diverse design background coupled with her vast cabinetry knowledge and marketing skills. Joining the team at Woodperfect Custom Cabinetry has proven to be more like "coming home" than the pursuit of a new venture.
